Department of chest diseases, committed to providing comprehensive care of respiratory health with focus on diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of pulmonary
conditions.
A 21 bedded indoor female chest ward is available. We cover the pulmonology patients in male and private ward as well.
The Department ofPulmonology is led by Brig (R) Dr Jamal Ahmed with the team members; Dr Asma Ambreen and Dr Usman Ranjha, highly experienced consultants dedicated to excellence in respiratory medicine, research and medical education. The
department has 10 active and committed PGTs.

Diagnostic and therapeutic services
· Bronchoscopy which allows to directly visualize airways
· Pleuroscopy is used to examine pleural space.
· Thoracocentesis are performed for both diagnostic and therapeutic
· purposes, including fluid analysis and relief of symptoms.
· Tube Thoracostomy done for massive pleural effusion or pneumothorax.
· Pleural biopsies are carried out to aid in the diagnosis of condition such as TB and malignancy.
· USG chest provides a non-invasive method to assess lung pathologies.
· In addition specialized diagnostic facilities like Sleep Study (Polysomnography)
is available to evaluate sleep related disorders.
