Pulmonology
Department of chest diseases, committed to providing comprehensive care of respiratory health with focus on diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of pulmonary conditions.
- A 21 bedded indoor female chest ward is available. We cover the pulmonology patients in male and private ward as well.
- The Department of Pulmonology is led by Brig (R) Dr Jamal Ahmed with the team members; Dr Asma Ambreen and Dr Usman Ranjha, highly experienced consultants dedicated to excellence in respiratory medicine, research and medical education. The department has 10 active and committed PGTs.
- The department offers daily OPD with TB clinic and on call ER services as well.
- We have a well-equipped pulmonology department that offers a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, procedures
Services and Facilities
- Bronchoscopy which allows to directly visualize airways
- Pleuroscopy is used to examine pleural space.
- Thoracocentesis are performed for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, including fluid analysis and relief of symptoms.
- Tube Thoracostomy done for massive pleural effusion or pneumothorax.
- Pleural biopsies are carried out to aid in the diagnosis of conditions such as TB and malignancy.
- USG chest provides a non-invasive method to assess lung pathologies
