Department of Neurosurgery at Fauji Foundation Teaching Hospital deals with all neurological traumas. It is a specialized department devoted to diagnosis, surgical intervention, and post-operative rehabilitation of disorders affecting the central and peripheral nervous system. The inpatient facility can accommodate up to 40 patients (Male/Female). The department is recognized for professional training by CPSP.
CORE CLINICAL SERVICES
· Treatment and surgery for all brain and spinal cord tumors.
· Treatment for neck and back pain including sciatica and lumbar and cervical disc issues.
· Treatment and surgery for stroke.
· Palliative treatment for chronic pain and epilepsy.
· Treatment and surgery for head trauma, skull/bone fractures, meningitis, brain abscess, and brain swelling/inflammation.
· Treatment and surgery for congenital anomalies including brain and spinal cord lesions such as hydrocephalus, meningocele, and encephalocele.
· Treatment of brain aneurysms and AV malformations.
· Surgery and treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
DISTINGUISHING SERVICES
The department has introduced awake craniotomy.
