Rheumatology

The department aims to provide diagnostic and therapeutic facilities for Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal disorders, counseling, disease awareness and rehabilitation services alongside teaching medical students, research fellows, trainees and paramedics.

Services and Facilities

OPD

·         Rheumatology has spacious OPD housing including Consultant and Registrar appointment clinics, filter clinics, procedure room, counseling room, record/data room with open access to Internet facility.

Indoor

·         The department has 15 indoor beds.

Dexa Scanner

·         One Dexa scan machine which is under the domain of Rheumatology department with 1 DEXA Scan operators.

MSK Ultrasound

·         The department has its own musculoskeletal ultrasound machines for diagnostic and therapeutics intervention in musculoskeletal diseases.

Affiliation

·         Department is affiliated with Foundation University Medical College.

Clinical Support

·         As a part of tertiary care university hospital department is supported by all major Clinical and Basic departments. Complementing the Rheumatology Department is Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Institute and Artificial limb center.

·         Trigger point injections

·         Capillaroscopy center is the first and till date only center of country providing capillaroscopy for Rheumatic disorders.
