Pathology

The Pathology department of FFHR provides comprehensive diagnostic services round the clock, supporting accurate and timely clinical decision-making. Equipped with advanced technology and staffed by highly qualified professionals, the department offers a wide range of services including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, histopathology, and immunology. Committed to quality and patient safety, the department adheres to strict quality assurance protocols and plays a vital role in disease diagnosis, monitoring, and prevention. On quality assurance front FFH pathology department has achieved the EQA certifications of excellence in Hameatology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology and Serology and is enrolled with College of American Pathologists (CAP), NHS-NEQAS and NEQAPP-AFIP for external quality assurance.

Hematology
Diagnosis and monitoring of blood disorders through tests such as CBC, coagulation profiles, and peripheral smear examination, bone marrow biopsy etc.

Clinical Chemistry (Biochemistry)
Analysis of blood and body fluids for metabolic, hormonal, renal, liver, and cardiac markers through state-of-the-art TLA (Total Lab Automation).

Microbiology
Detection and identification of infectious agents (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites) through relevant microbiology diagnostics.

Molecular Diagnostics
Advanced testing including PCR and genetic analysis for infectious diseases, cancers, and inherited disorders.

Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine
Blood grouping, cross-matching, component preparation, and safe transfusion practices.

Immunology/Serology

  • Testing for immune-related disorders, infectious diseases, and autoimmune conditions using antigen-antibody reactions.
  • These services collectively support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and disease monitoring across all clinical specialties.
  • Total Lab Automation (TLA), PBTA Certified Blood Bank with availability of all blood and blood products, Bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy, Molecular testing via PCR, GeneXpert,
  •  Lupus Anticoagulant test, Auotmated blood culture, and Hospital infection Control.
