Paediatric Surgery Department
The unit of Paediatric Surgery at Fauji Foundation Hospital was established in 2021 and assumed the status of a department when it was accreddited for training in FCPS paediatric surgery in 2023.
The Paediatric Surgery Department offers comprehensive, child-centred surgical services for patients from birth to adolescence. The department is staffed by highly trained paediatric surgeons who work in collaboration with paediatricians, anaesthetists, and specialised nursing teams to ensure safe and effective treatment. Services typically include neonatal surgery, general paediatric surgery, urology, thoracic and abdominal procedures. Minimally invasive (laparoscopic/endoscopic) will also be offered in the near future.
The department manages a wide range of conditions such as congenital anomalies, hernias, gastrointestinal disorders, urological problems, trauma, and childhood tumours. It provides both elective and emergency surgical care, supported by modern operation theatres, neonatal and paediatric intensive care units (NICU/PICU), and round-the-clock emergency services.
